Karen brings to her coaching work both a global perspective from living and working in Latin America and Europe and a local commitment to taking action wherever you are right now.

Karen’s coaching focuses on helping leaders to clarify their unique value‐add, become more successful in current roles, transition to new roles, and to achieve sustainability among work/life demands. Clients praise her ability to hear the unspoken, to identify core values and make decisions from a place of authenticity, and to help them gain perspective on the choices available in any given situation.

Previously, Karen served as chief of staff for the legal department of Lucent Technologies (now Alcatel Lucent). n this role, she worked with leaders on issues related to performance and project management, talent development, effective communication, and succession planning. She is a graduate of the company’s Global Leadership Development Program and held positions in marketing, strategy and sales.

Karen’s current and recent clients include executives in telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, professional services and higher education. She has also worked in non‐profits, the federal government and nongovernmental
organizations.

Karen has an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and a Bachelor’s in International Business and Spanish from The George Washington University. She completed her coach training at the ICF‐accredited Coaches Training Institute. Karen uses a variety of assessment tools including the Myers‐Briggs Type Indicator, and Strengthsfinder 2.0. She is fluent in Spanish.
